In his own word Dungarees are overalls .. Unisex overalls, sometimes considered as the slightest form of androgyny for men’s style (I’d question that though). They mostly come in Denim and it’s no news that Denim has had a massive
come back in recent seasons with the likes of Double denim and triple Denim trends, Dungarees on the other hand are still denim and they give a new vibe to the trend so rather expected right?
I love the fact that they are unique pieces that give the 90’s fashion season a revival and that there are quite a number of ways to style them, this is my first dungaree editorial here so I thought to style from the basics.
Dungarees, like many other overalls were initially created for construction workers and the like for protective functions, and later on became popularized in the fashion scene, just as this season it’s been a lot of military wear, and that’s the reason I decided to try to re-live the concept in a thorough Nigerian setting, where it won’t be uncommon to see dungarees worn in mechanic workshops which in turn are mostly on the streets .. You see? it’s still style, street style, the real street style!
To create some sort of contrast, He styled the look with an infusion of athleisure, another huge trend that gave the look a more contemporary and easy to wear vibe with the Nike air max and the Tee from @Awe_lagos
